2020 Holiday Light Displays in Maryland

You don’t have to travel far from your Sturbridge Home to share holiday cheer under glowing lights. December is the time for winter festivities throughout Anne Arundel county — and even with the addition of masks and social distancing, there are plenty of dazzling displays for you to walk or drive to. Bundle up your family and visit these local light displays that will take your breath away!

Maryland Zoo Lights

Enjoy a holiday activity while supporting animal care and conservation. Our North Shore Landing community in Glen Burnie is just minutes away from one of the best Christmas light attractions in the area.

The Maryland Zoo in downtown Baltimore stays open after hours to showcase various parts of the park with over 50 lighting structures. Tour the zoo on foot or by car to see over 100,000 twinkling lights in the shapes of animals. Zoo Lights is available Wednesday through Sunday evenings and tickets should be purchased in advance online.

Lights On The Bay

Grab a thermos of cocoa and head to Sandy Point State Park for a spectacle of lights. Lights On The Bay delivers a glowing drive-through wonderland with over 60 animated and non-moving displays.

Many of the sights give nod to local landmarks and Maryland history. The biggest sight to behold is the towering 16-foot teddy bear. There are even 3D glasses available for purchase for certain enhanced displays and scavenger hunts for children. Fill your car with people from your own household and get your tickets ahead of time on the website.

North Pole Lights Walk

Who knew the North Pole was just steps away from our Highmeadow Hills community? Willow Oak Flower & Herb Farm in Severn hosts the self-guided North Pole Lights Walk. View glimmering woodland and arctic animals throughout the gardens as you work your way to the grand-finale; Santa Claus!

Don’t miss an opportunity for your kids to meet the big man in red while making holiday memories. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Merriweather Symphony of Lights

Celebrate the season with stunning lights at the Symphony of Lights in the historic Merriweather Post Pavilion. This long-running tradition has over 300,000 glittering lights, moving and stationary displays, and a 150 foot projector screen. Some proceeds from this event benefit the Howard County General Hospital.

Drive-through the scenery or stretch your legs on specialty walk-through nights. Find out more and get your tickets online.
