Celebrate the Old Line State during this years Maryland Day weekend, April 6-8,2018! Maryland’s birthday is officially on March 25th, a state holiday that commemorates the formal founding of the colony of Maryland. Organizations and local business from across the states capital partnered to bring you a weekend full of events and activities that celebrate Maryland’s culture, history, and art!

Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Visitor Center

Stop by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Visitor Center before you start your Maryland Day weekend. Information Specialists can help you plan activities including a free Maryland Day Program and information about local things to see and do.

Maryland State House

Located in the heart of Annapolis, the Maryland State House will be offering tours and programs including “Treasures From The Maryland State Archives.”

Maryland Day Flag Ceremony

Four Rivers Heritage Area and partners present a spirit-lifting flag raising ceremony at the Annapolis City Dock. The perfect place to start your Saturday morning!

Watermark Tours

Celebrate Maryland Day on this complimentary ramble in Annapolis’ Historic District. Through the intense effort of sophisticated exploration plus a vivid imagination, 100 “memorials” have been identified! Some will surprise you, impress you, or even amaze you!

Historic London Town and Gardens

Visit Historic London Town and Gardens to try making rope, watch musketry demonstrations, smell fresh hearth cooking in a colonial style, buy handmade furniture from a master carpenter, and explore the beautiful decorative gardens.

Chesapeake Children’s Museum

Make a Maryland memory with your family.  Come and play at the hands-on museum for children of all ages. Meet live animals, travel the seven seas on a 10-foot boat or take a stroll on the creekside nature trail.

Hogshead

Learn what life was like for the “lower and middling sort” in early Maryland through an interactive experience with guides dressed in colonial attire and the opportunity to see and handle authentic and reproduction artifacts.

Annapolis Maritime Museum

Did you know most oysters we eat are “Made in Maryland”?  Join interpretive staff on the docks and prepare to get wet and muddy as you discover oysters and learn and touch Chesapeake critters.
